China CPI up by 1.5% in January
China’s consumer inflation cooled to 1.5 percent in January, in line with economists’ forecasts, official data showed on Friday. The consumer price index (CPI) had been expected to moderate from a 1.8 percent gain in December. The producer price index (PPI) rose 4.3 percent from a year earlier, also cooling from the previous month’s rise of 4.9 percent, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said on its website.

Eurozone CPI expected to be 1.3% in January
Euro area annual inflation is expected to be 1.3% in January 2018, down from 1.4% in December 2017, according to a flash estimate from Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union.

Australian CPI up by 0.6%
Australian CPI rose 0.6% this quarter, compared with a rise of 0.6% in the September quarter 2017. It rose 1.9% over the twelve months to the December quarter 2017, compared with a rise of 1.8% over the twelve months to the September quarter 2017.

Eurozone inflation at 1.4%
Euro area annual inflation was 1.4% in December 2017, down from 1.5% in November. In December 2016, the rate was 1.1%. European Union annual inflation was 1.7% in December 2017, down from 1.8% in November. A year earlier the rate was 1.2%. These figures come from Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union. The lowest annual rates were registered in Cyprus (-0.4%), Ireland and Finland (both 0.5%) and Denmark (0.8%).
